:: artist's statement

I am a graduate of Sarah Lawrence College. My interests include poetry and photography. I have been published in several magazines and given poetry readings at Saint Mark's Church and other venues in New York City. I produced and directed a series of interviews and readings by American poets called TELEPOETS for public television. In 1976 my first book as a professional photographer was released. The book, Inside Las Vegas, was written by Mario Puzo and included works of fellow photographers Michael Abramson and John Lanois. This book was selected as a Book of the Month Club alternate and received a silver medal from the New Jersey Art Directors Club. An exhibit of the photographs was presented at the OK Harris Gallery in New York City. My second book, A Stranger in the House, was published and all prints and negatives from this book have been archived by The Schomberg Center for Research in Black Culture, an adjunct to the New Public Library.

Since then I have shown my works at Sarah Lawrence Gallery; the Center for Photography in Woodstock; Vassar College Gallery; Abington Art Center in Chester, Pennsylvania; Rutgers Gallery in Utica, New York; Berkshires Artisan Gallery in Pittsfield, Massachusetts; the Galleria Gaetano in Philadelphia; Marist College in Poughkeepsie, New York and the Albany Center Gallery. I live at Black Sheep Farm in Staatsburg, NY.
